News

Fred Fletcher, Mary Hannert, and Stephanie Merrill are retiring from Elgin Academy at the end of this school year. All three of these extraordinary educators have served our school for remarkable tenures, both in length and in quality. While their gain is unquestionably our loss, this is clearly a moment to celebrate the legacies they are leaving behind.
Elgin Academy seniors Kaitlyn Pearson and Alysson Wittmeyer signed National Letters of Intent Monday to continue their athletic careers -- Pearson in track and field at Illinois State University and Wittmeyer in rowing at the University of Iowa.
Congratulations to the following middle school students who excelled above all entries and placed 1st through 3rd in the local VFW Patriot's Pen essay contest, Caelinn Leahy (1st place), Ashley Gordon (2nd place), Ceci Yasell (3rd place).
Congratulations to the Upper School Model UN team for their participation last month at Waubonsie Valley Model United Nations. We especially congratulate sophomore Amelia Deering who was awarded Best Delegate.

Inspired by the contributions of these three individuals, we are pleased to announce that our Board of Trustees has approved the Elgin Academy Faculty Excellence Program. This program provides the possibility for the Board to establish funds in honor of faculty members retiring from Elgin Academy after serving the school for at least twenty years. The link below leads to descriptions of the funds being established in honor of these three educators and recognizing the individual accomplishments of each. Click Here
